SOH
Hans Beekmans is Secretary at the  SOH, Stichting Onafhankelijke Hulpverlening. The SOH goes for quality policy in Dutch healthcare, starting with dentistry.

Current policies damage relationships of trust, drive up costs, play caregivers against each other, and encourage production and inappropriate use of regulations. The most important values in healthcare are the right to an independent relationship between care recipient and caregiver, choice and the freedom to choose.

The SOH has developed a policy vision that safeguards these values and can be easily implemented.

KOM
Hans Beekmans is chairman of the Independent Oral Care Quality Mark Foundation (KOM).

KOM advocates the inalienable right of dentists to determine the content of care together with the patient. The determination of its value is therefore at the discretion and in accordance with the agreement between the attending dentist and the patient.

KOM therefore advocates regulations with room for this. The existing determinations – the result of statistical data that have nothing to do with the quality of care – could then be used as a reference.

KOM wants each dentist to have room to deviate from them based on their own medical responsibility.
