This page is intended for people who are interested in (partial) dentures and want more information about them. Are you a prosthesis wearer and are you considering a new one? Please read this page carefully and let us inform you further.
Denture
The purpose of dentures is to replace your missing teeth. The prosthetics come in different types, depending on your situation. Within the Beekmans Tandartsen team, we work with a prosthesis specialist who can advise you on the best solution for you.
Possibilities
Your dentures are of great aesthetic importance to you, but they are also essential for you to be able to eat and speak. Common complaints among prosthesis wearers are: pain, looseness, loss of taste and an overly artificial appearance of the prosthesis. Most of these annoying issues can be prevented or solved using the latest techniques and skills in the field of dental prosthetics. In our practice, we can offer you the highest attainable quality and craftsmanship.
In addition to conventional prosthetics, you can also contact us for implant-supported prostheses (click dentures), fixed bridges on implants, frame prostheses and flexible prostheses.
Treatment plan
During your first appointment with the prosthesis specialist, a treatment plan will be drawn up in which the possibilities and your wishes will be recorded. Based on this treatment plan, you will receive an estimate of the expected costs from us. After approval from you or your health insurer, we will start measuring the prosthesis and manufacturing it. Both the treatment and the manufacture of the prosthesis are done by the prosthesis specialist.
Non-binding check-up
Do you have pain? Or are you not satisfied with the appearance of your current prosthesis? We would like to invite you to make an appointment to view the oral situation and current prostheses and to give a no-obligation free consultation.
Frequently asked questions
How long do dentures last?
Dentures last an average of 5 to 10 years.
What does the health insurance company cover?
Conventional dentures for upper and lower jaws cost approximately €1150.00 (including technical costs). Depending on which health insurer you have, this amount is reimbursed once every 5 to 8 years for 75% from the basic care package.
I have excellent dentures, do I need to come for a check-up?
It is advisable to come for a check-up at least once every 2 years to have the fit and wear on the teeth assessed. Outdated prosthetics can have adverse effects on your “chewing organ”.
What is an implant?
An implant is best seen as a kind of artificial root. Implants are made of the body-friendly material titanium. The use of implants in combination with a new denture will remedy the loosening of a prosthesis.
